The Wairarapa Gravel Classic
Date 28 - March - 2026
Location Wainuioru - East Coast
The Wairarapa Gravel Classic is a true back-country loop that showcases the best of the region. Riders will roll through a mix of quiet sealed roads, fast gravel sectors and remote hill climbs, linking rugged farmland with wide open valleys and coastal views. The course also features exclusive access through private farmland at Fernglen Farms and private forestry blocks with JNL, offering a rare opportunity to ride sections not normally open to the public. Expect long steady drags, punchy climbs, flowing descents and plenty of exposed gravel that rewards patience and good pacing. With minimal traffic, big scenery and a genuine sense of isolation in places, this is a course that feels adventurous, challenging and uniquely Wairarapa from start to finish.
